Sumitomo TWS tungsten electrode wire (Tungsten Wire Series) is manufactured by Sumitomo Fine Conductor of Japan from high-purity tungsten using a precision drawing process. With a melting point of 3080 °C, it is a core consumable for ultra-precision wire-cut EDM.
The series reaches diameters down to Φ 0.010 mm, with tensile strength ≥ 3200 N/mm² and outstanding straightness. Its advantages are most evident in auto-threading performance and in machining superhard materials such as tungsten carbide and hardened die steel — Sodick and other leading machine builders list TWS as a standard wire for ultra-fine diameters, widely used for aerospace components, optical instruments, IC lead frames and precision terminal dies.
As a distributor of the Sumitomo TWS series, Huaying Machinery keeps the full range in stock and supplies genuine original products, fast delivery and professional technical support.

General spec: diameter tolerance +0 / −0.002 mm · tensile strength ≥ 3200 N/mm² · material high-purity tungsten · ordered by full box.
Tensile strength of ≥ 3200 N/mm² lets TWS withstand very high wire tension and discharge impact — stable cutting at high wire speed with markedly fewer wire breaks than ordinary electrode wires.
A tolerance of +0 / −0.002 mm keeps the diameter highly consistent from spool to spool — key to micro-feature machining and demanding surface quality requirements.
Outstanding straightness gives TWS a clear advantage in auto-threading — when other wires fail to thread automatically, TWS tungsten wire is usually the first choice.
With a melting point of 3080 °C, tungsten stays thermally stable when machining tungsten carbide and other superhard materials, improving surface quality and tool life.
Produced by Sumitomo Fine Conductor in Japan under full process control from raw material to finished spool, so every spool meets the published specification.
Designed for ultra-precision machining; Sodick and other top wire-EDM builders list it as a standard wire for ultra-fine diameters.
A composite wire with a steel core, an intermediate copper layer and an outer brass (or pure zinc) layer. As precision machining increasingly requires wires below 0.10mm — where brass fails due to strength loss at high temperature — Suzuki Metal combines piano-wire-grade steel strength with brass discharge performance. SP wires offer high strength, stable discharge and excellent straightness with far less wear on guides than tungsten, virtually replacing costly tungsten and molybdenum wires. SPZ zinc-coated steel-core wires cut 30–80% faster, especially on oil-dielectric machines.

Only two manufacturers worldwide mass-produce sub-0.1mm steel-core wires; Suzuki Metal is the largest, OEM-producing AP Wire for Sodick, and SP is a standard wire on certain Agie precision machines. Ideal for fine-wire-capable high-precision machines — the choice for lead-frame stamping dies, terminal dies, precision injection moulds and optical parts.
Coated wires are produced by dipping, electroplating or diffusion-annealing processes. Core materials include brass, copper and steel; coatings include zinc, copper, copper-zinc alloys and silver. Compared with brass wires, quality zinc-coated wires cut 30–50% faster (0.25mm zinc-coated wires average 150–180 mm²/min in Guangdong), resist wire breakage, improve workpiece surface quality and accuracy, and reduce wear on power feeds and guides.

Based on years of experience with imported products, we have filters custom-manufactured with reference to foreign processes: standard filters use German HV wood-pulp paper (3–5μm); super filters use Japanese Mitsubishi Paper fiber (1–3μm). Innovative folding maximizes filter area and service life; improved bonding ensures 3bar pressure resistance. Long-term tested by demanding users in Germany and China, and marketed across Europe and Asia.
